Cockle shell cuff bracelet silver

This eyecatching cuff bracelet is made from solid sterling silver. This unusual design see at the bottom has been made from 3mm solid silver wire with two castings of real cockle shells found washed up empty on one of Gower's local beaches solderd securely to the ends to form this unique cuff by Pa-pa

On the Burry Inlet on the edge of the Gower Peninsula, South Wales these tasty shellfish have been harvested since the roman times. The women of Penclawdd, the small village on the estuary, used to pick the cockle shells to earn extra cash while their husbands were working down the coal mines.
